Form
and function
Great
things are done by a series of small things brought together.
--Vincent
Van Gogh
I
used to go on hikes in the woods and mountains with my father.
Without
a compass or map, we would wander through thickets of brambles,
and
I'd spot wildlife scurrying away in the distance—raccoons, deer, songbirds.
Without
these excursions I might have grown up much like people's dogs; they never
wonder
where
they are, or why.
I
would have been content to live a life of repetition and routine.
But
I'm not content anymore because I know that there's more out there for me.
