Trespassing
What man does
not understand,
he fears;
and what he fears,
he tends to destroy.
This is the rule of life:
what we do not understand,
we fear;
and what we fear,
we destroy.
Without understanding,
there can be
no empathy for
another’s pain or joy.
Without understanding,
there can be no love.
The greater the difference
between us and them.
the more terrifying
they are to us.
And so it has been
throughout history.
