The power of love

is such that it makes one unmindful

of the external circumstances.

Poverty, troubles, hunger,

or privation cannot move him.

They have no meaning for him.

A true lover is like a rock

whom nothing can shake.

Love is eternal.

Water can penetrate and

flow between the rocks,

but it cannot move them.

Likewise, love penetrates

the heart of man,

but it cannot change it.

For lovers believe themselves

to be like the sun;

they are like the sun in its glory.

The sun shines,

though the heavens may be dark.

The setting of the sun

is like the setting of love.

It is as if a lover had said:

"I am like the sun,

I shine in my heart."

Love never sets.
