Lament
Individuals do not meet
by chance.
They are necessary in
the experiences of others,
though they may not always
use their opportunities
in a spiritual way or manner.
Without them,
the world would be
a dreary place.
It would be like an orchestra
with no percussion,
no strings, no brass.
It would be like a flower
without its colors,
like a day without clouds.
They are necessary and
they are not always appreciated:
An earthquake may cause
the collapse of homes,
but it also brings
nutrients to the soil.
A hurricane may destroy cities,
but it also renews their infrastructure.
A fire may stigmatize a city or community,
but it also makes way for new growth.
A virus may kill millions
of people over time,
but it gives life to billions
more in the future.
Individuals do not meet
by chance.
They are necessary in
the experiences of others,
though they may not always
use their opportunities
in a spiritual way or manner.
Without them, the world
would be a dreary place.
It would be like an orchestra
with no percussion,
no strings, no brass.
It would be like a
flower without its colors,
like a day without clouds.
