There is no remedy for love but to love more.

To love more. To love the whole world,

to be “humble before everything that is . . .” to accept the pain of life.

We are so proud of our achievements — years of work,

of our personal successes.

But what of the pain in life?

What of the sadness, the longing?

What of the emptiness we feel when we see human beings suffering, dying?

We must love more and do good deeds. We must care for those who are living and dying, those who are in need. We must share our time, our energy, our heart with all of humanity.

When a happy person comes into the room,

it is as if another candle has been lit

 

and I want to tell this person,

 

I want to say, hold it in your hand—the light.
