A walk on the Beach is worth a Thousand Words

A day on the beach is worth a thousand words.

Without the sea, I can't breathe.

 

I think of my ancestors, who came here after they

were driven from their homes on the coast,

the men and women who brought life to this land,

and tended it with love.

 

I imagine what it was like

to live in harmony with nature and each other.

My ancestors' ghosts whisper to me and remind me

that every moment is precious.

There is beauty in every sunrise and sunset;

there are lessons in every wave that comes ashore.
