A Web from the Sea
We have woven a web, you
and I, attached to this world but a separate world of our own invention
We have made a city of our
own, a place of commerce and business, but the sea comes in like the rain
We are drenched by waves
and whispers and then, as if when we were sleeping, it washes us away, out to
sea
When I wake up I am alone
on your island. My clothes are washed away, lost. The sand is damp on my skin
I am hungry, I have no
shelter. I cannot find you.
I search for you in the
forest and on the shore but I can't find you anywhere.
