The Gate of Spring 

 

Love is greatest refreshment in life

I could not bear to be loved any longer,

Not to be loved more than death.

Without love I would have no life,

I would be dead;

And it is because of love that I am alive.

Without love I would have died long ago.

Love makes me go on living.

It is a gate through which I pass and continue living.

Love is what revives me daily, hourly, and minutely.

Love is the force that lets me live again and again.

Love keeps me breathing in the world with every breath I take.

Love is the breath of life itself.

Love is the strength that lets me live.

Without love I would have no life,

I would be dead;

And it is because of love that I am alive.
