Missed Again
I miss her like
the sea would miss salt
if that were taken away
and left only water
her body was a ship
and I the ocean
she set sail and I swelled,
filled with
her longing
for adventure, for new lands,
new
people to meet and greet.
The mast of her body swayed
and moved
in the sea’s current.
I met her eyes and was carried
away on
waves of desire.
She dove into me with arms
held high like fins;
she breached me.
My mouth opened to
taste salt on her skin,
to drink the seawater
from between her breasts.
We floated in union above the floor,
then we sank into it.
Skin against skin, flesh against flesh
—my body cradled hers.
