blessing or a lesson

We met for a reason,

either you’re a blessing or a lesson

The latter being the more likely.

The former only possible

Given what I know about you and me,

which is not much since

You’re still a stranger to me,

but that’s not my point.

If I trusted in lessons

I could lean into this

and hope you’ll teach me something.

If I trusted in blessings

I could take your hand

and see what happens.

But this is neither,

so I’ll leave it to the fates and

The universe to decide.

Until then, I’ll try to be patient.
