What Happens When We Love?
Giving lots of affection
and getting none in return hurts more than you think.
Without proper attention
and affection, it can make you feel invisible.
Without being touched, you
can feel lonely.
Without being held, you can
feel shame.
Without being loved, you
can feel dead inside.
Behind closed doors you may
cry alone or seek comfort in others for your pain.
You try to keep a stiff
upper lip and endure so that no one will worry about your hurt feelings.
