A Complaint
Ignore the noise, focus on
your work
and that’s the best you can
do.
Working is worth doing
well;
the rest is a distraction.
And distractions will come,
as they always have and
always will.
Without fail, something
will get in the way:
a child or spouse or friend
or neighbor,
an illness, a conflict, an
injury, a thousand other things.
But this is a complaint.
Don’t waste your time and
energy on it.
Focus instead on what you
can do:
work well, work hard, work
to the best of your ability.
And when you get
distracted, as you are sure to do,
focus again on what you
need to do.
Ignore the noise; focus on
your work.
