Descent
A farmer believes what goes down must
come up.
The pump's a centrifuge, the water a
seed.
The slope of a gully is the curve of a
breast.
Without the dark there would be no
light.
The first step is always the hardest,
but once you tumble, it's easier to
drop.
The farther you fall the faster you go.
Your eyes hurt from the wind and
your
ears ring with the scream of descent.
If only we could see what awaits in the darkness below,
how many would still choose to leap?
And yet here I am falling,
and I'm still not sure if this is a
descent or an ascent.
