Sunset
Our memories of the ocean
will linger on,
long after our footprints
in the sand are gone.
Here on this castle wall,
I watch the sun
set over the sea in
a blaze of orange.
The horizon is a line between
blue sky and water,
shading to pale pink and gold.
The water is calm.
Without wind or waves,
it seems eerily still.
In contrast,
the sky is rustling with clouds
—white-topped
waves breaking against each other.
They catch the sunlight in flashes.
